Lorraine
Jordan grew up around bluegrass music on the coast of NC.
She has performed bluegrass music for over 20 years. Lorraine
plays Monroe style mandolin and is known for her hard driving
mandolin chop. "Mandolin Rose" is the name of her new
solo mandolin project. It has received great reviews from both
Bluegrass Unlimited and Bluegrass Now. "Lorraine is a consummate
performer, songwriter, emcee, and show organizer. She has the
musical skill, personality, enrgy and charisma to go a long way
in bluegrass music." Lorraine is the sole owner of Jordan
Entertainment, which runs two very successful bluegrass festivals
in Raliegh, NC. In 2001, ASCAP chose Lorraine as a finalist in
the IBMA songwriter showcase. AS the band's emcee, she demonstrates
an outgoing personality and charisma that draws audiences to the
edge of their seats with every word and note. Lorraine is the
driving force behind Carolina Road's opularity and longevity.
She formed Carolina Road in 1998. Lorraine is married to Dr. Tom
Langdon and has a 10 year old daughter named Susanna. She loves
dogs and owns two malteze (J.D. Crowe and Polly Lewis) and her
favorite hobby is riding her motorcycle. Lorraine owns one of
the largest driving schools in the USA.

Jason Barie
is a 23-year-old fiddle player whose resume reads like that
of someone twice his age. Growing up in central Florida, he was
exposed to great fiddle legends like Chubby Wise, Chubby Anthony,
Vasser Clements, David Crowe, Aubrey Haynie and Tommy Cordell.
By the time he was 15 Jason was playing with several different
local groups and had won the title of Floida State Fiddle Champion
(which he won six times). At the tender age of 17, he was offered
a job playing full time and traveling nationally with the Sand
Mountain Boys. He is the senior member of Carolina Road and is
working towards his fourth year. Jason ahs a solo CD and has recorded
on several projects in the past seven years. Jason sings bass
with the Carolina Road quartet. Jason is a young and upcoming
fiddler that is sure to do well in the years to come. Jason is
married to sarah Barie and has a blue tick hound named Ruby. He
was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. His musical influences
are Kenny Baker, Bill Monroe, JD Crow, Scotty Stoneman, Stewart
Duncan, and Jason Carter. It is no wonder that he was won Florida
state fiddler champion for three years.
Rick Pardue
resides in Elkin, NC. He has many years experience in bluegrass
(32 years) and has played with Carolina Road for three years.
Rick plays banjo and bass and sings baritones. You may have seen
him on dobro, pedal steel and guitar. Rick has performed with
several local bands including Roy McMillan and the High Country
Boys and the Sugarloaf Ramblers in the 70's. From 1990 to 1995
he played with Point Blank (IBMA showcase '92). From 1995 to 2001
he was with the Long and Pardue Band (IBMA showcase '97). Rick
was on tour playing and singing harmony with Butch Robbins and
Bobby Hicks in 2002. He has made a name for himself by playing
many festivals around the the country. When not playing with Carolina
Road, he is in demand for recording sessions within the studios.
Rick has a lot of charisma and is exciting to watch on stage.
Rick has over 30 years of musical experience, in which people
like The Osborne Bothers, Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, Stanley
Brothers, and Jim and Jesse have been great influences. Rick loves
to hunt and fish in Yadkin Co. N.C. where he was born. He is married
to Jayne Pardue, and they have four children, Ryan, Dustin, Briggs,
and Courtney.
Tim Massey,
born in Newport News, VA, moved to the foothills of Blue Ridge
Mountains of Virginia at the early age of five, where he learned
his first chords on the guitar from watching his older brother
play. His love for traditional musc grew from that point and by
age 12 he was writing his own tunes. In 1995, Tim's "Cold
Virginia Night," recorded by Ronnie Bowman, won IBMA's song
of the year award. Such notable artists as IIIrd Tyme Out, Dan
Tyminski, Lonesome River Band, and Ronnie Bowman have recorded
his songs. Tim began playing bass when he joined forces with Wyatt
Rice and Junior Sisk to form Wyat Rice and Santa Cruz. He later
joined Ramblers Choice where his vocals and song writing abilities
were a welcome addition. Tim also served in the U.S. ARMY. He
plays lead guitar and sings lead for Carolina Road. He as been
with the band for three years. Tim is married to Charity Massey.
They have two children Molly Anna and Timmy II. Tim was born ans
raised in Newport News, VA. He has spent 36 years in the musc
business. His influences are Keith Whitley, Ricky Skaggs, Merle
Haggard, James Taylor and The Beatles.
Gary Richardson
was raised in "Ralph Stanley" country of Wise, Virginia.
As a young boy, he listened to the Stanleys jsut across the hills
from his home. Gary served in the USMC and was a coal miner. He
has owned a music store in Wake County, NC. Gary plays solid timing
on bass and puts the drive behind Carolina Road. He is in charge
of booking the band and overseeing the bus repairs. Gary has worked
with Carolina Road for three years. He is the road manager and
soundman. Gary is well liked by the Carolina Road fans and sends
a quarterly newsletter out. He has a new bride, Gayle Richardson
who supports his music very much. Gary has four children, Laura,
Sarah, Dayle and Lydia. His major influence in music is his father
Albert Richardson and Doyle Lawson.
David Guthrie
grew up in Spring Lake, NC> He served in the U.S. ARMY for
seven years. His dynamic vocal range resembles the high, lonesome
traditional mountain sound. When he steps up to the microphone
to sing a solo, the audience really comes alive. David is a musical
personality to watch. He is a welcome addition to Carolina Road
as the tenor singer and rhythm guitar. David is in his first year
with Carolina Road. He was born in Wertsburg, Germany and his
musical mentors are Jim Mcrenolds, Bill Monroe, Ricky Skaggs,
and Ralph Stanley.
