John
Abrams
Born
in Yellowknife, NWT in 1990, John , now 15 is already a seasoned
musician. He started violin at the age of 8 under the leadership
of Jessica Halliday and has most recently advanced his musical
repertoire under the guidance of musician Shawn Kellett. John
plays fiddle, mandolin and sings lead and harmony vocals. John's
remarkable talent lies in his ability to play exceedingly intricate,
fast pieces, while maintaining impeccable tone. He is also a composer,
having several fiddle tunes to his credit, including 'The Old
Rocking Chair'. John performs with his brother James as part of
'The Abrams Brothers', a bluegrass gospel duo. He resides near
Kingston, Ontario, with his family.
James Abrams
James
was born in Kingston, ON, in 1993. Now 12, he plays fiddle, mandolin
and sings lead and harmony vocals. Performing since his first music
lesson at the age of 6, he is a natural on stage. He possesses a
special talent not only in his technical ability to play and sing,
but also in being able to interact with his audience through his
magnetic smile and relaxed manner on stage. James studies fiddle
under Shawn Kellett, a well respected Canadian Musician. He also
studies piano and has already composed several pieces for piano
including 'Evening Rain'. He travels and performs with his brother
John as part of The Abrams Brothers a bluegrass gospel duo. He resides
with his family near Kingston, Ontario.
Brian Abrams
Brian
is the father of 'The Abrams Brothers' and is also a talented musician
and composer/song writer. He hails from a musical family and has
a natural ear for music. Largely self taught, he plays rhythym guitar
and sings lead and harmony vocals with sons John and James. In addition
to performing with his sons, he performs with his parents as part
of 'The Abrams Family and Clarendon Station' and has a thriving
law practice in the Kingston Area.
Wayne Abrams
Wayne
is the grandfather of John and James, proudly performing with Brian
and the boys, contributing his talents to the group through playing
bass guitar, bass fiddle and singing harmony vocals with the younger
Abrams'. He, too, composes original music and has written much of
the bluegrass gospel music performed by the larger family band 'The
Abrams Family and Clarendon Station'. Wayne and Mary, his wife of
44 years, are now retired enjoying pursuing musical endeavors with
their grandsons. |
