NUGGET is the #1 European Bluegrass Band 2003, representing European Bluegrass at IBMA in 2004

If there is anything like a European Bluegrass Style, then NUGGET certainly is one of the representatives of it. Through their constant confrontation with an audience that is unfamiliar with Bluegrass Music, a very varied programme has evolved. In addition, the never ending exercise, to adapt songs of other genres and make them bluegrass-able, is a strong feature of this band. This concept proofed to be welcomed also in the US, where NUGGET is seen and heard with great applause any time.

NUGGET works with tight harmony singing, with lead singer Katarina, and also a often admired rhythmical element. The instrumental virtuosity of these musicians is no longer an issue - this has been stated and commented often enough. Jardas modern banjo playing, that works without huge escapades in melodic style, and Jakubs tasteful guitar picking perfectly join into the powerful and driving bluegrass style that characterises NUGGET.
